Privacy Policy
The short version: your cat’s records live on your phone first, we never sell your data, we don’t do ad tracking, and you can delete everything.
Last updated November 7, 2026
Our promises
- We do not sell your personal information or your cat’s health data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- No ad tracking. The app does not contain advertising SDKs and does not ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- Local-first. Your logs are stored on your device first. Cloud backup and sync happen only if you create an account.
- You can leave at any time. Export all your data for free, and delete your account from inside the app.
- If we ever run anonymous, aggregated research, we will ask you separately and you can say no. It will never be turned on by default.
Who we are
“KidneyPaw”, “we” and “us” refer to Wang Hao, an individual developer, who operates the KidneyPaw app and the KidneyPaw website. You can reach us at 781960591@qq.com.
What we collect
In the app
- Information about your cat that you enter: name, birth date, weight, medications as prescribed, fluids, appetite, symptoms, litter box notes, lab results, blood pressure readings, foods and notes.
- Account information if you create an account: your email address, used to send you a sign-in code. There is no password.
- Family sharing: the email addresses of people you invite, and which records they added.
- Purchase status: whether you have an active subscription or lifetime purchase. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Product analytics: anonymous usage events (for example “a lab report was decoded”) and crash reports, used only to improve the app. You can turn analytics off in Settings.
On this website
- The free tools on this website (Lab Decoder, dry matter calculator, emergency guide) run entirely in your browser. What you type is not sent to us.
- If you join the waitlist, we receive the email address you give us, which we use only to tell you when the app launches.
- This website does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
- Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security.
How we use information
- To provide the app’s features: reminders, trends, explanations, reports and family sharing.
- To back up and sync your data, if you create an account.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
- To understand which features help, fix bugs and keep the service secure.
- To send you messages you have asked for, such as the launch email or trial reminders.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage for accounts and backups.
- RevenueCat — managing App Store and Google Play subscription status.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics, which you can turn off.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting.
- Apple and Google — app distribution, payments and, if you choose, sign-in.
We will update this list if our providers change.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers above, with people you invite to share your cat’s records, when you choose to export or send a report (for example to your vet), or when required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Retention and deletion
- Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- You can delete your account in the app under Settings. We delete your account data from our servers within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (for example for tax or fraud prevention).
- If a subscription ends, your data is not deleted. You can still view and export it.
- Waitlist emails are deleted once launch emails are sent, or sooner on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA/CPRA, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to access or receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (we do neither). You can exercise most of these directly in the app. For anything else, email 781960591@qq.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our storage provider. Access to production data is limited to people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the appropriate authorities if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
Children
KidneyPaw is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we make material changes we will update the date above and tell you in the app before they take effect. Our promises above will not be weakened without asking you.
