Terms of Use
Plain-language terms for using KidneyPaw. Please read the medical section carefully.

1. Agreement
By using the KidneyPaw mobile app or the KidneyPaw website (together, “KidneyPaw”), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. KidneyPaw is operated by Wang Hao, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content. If you don’t agree, please don’t use KidneyPaw. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or make a purchase.
2. Information, not veterinary care
KidneyPaw is a record-keeping and information tool for people caring for cats. It does not diagnose, stage, treat or prescribe, and it does not give dosing advice. Using KidneyPaw does not create a veterinarian–client–patient relationship. Explanations of lab values, IRIS reference ranges, food phosphorus levels and the emergency guide are general information and may not apply to your cat. Always follow your veterinarian’s advice, and never delay or ignore veterinary care because of something you read in KidneyPaw. If you think your cat is in danger, contact your vet or an emergency clinic immediately. See our full medical disclaimer.
3. Your account and your data
You are responsible for the information you enter and for keeping your sign-in secure. You own the data you put into KidneyPaw. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you and the people you choose to share with, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time for free and delete your account from inside the app.
4. Family sharing
If you invite others to view or add records, they can see the cat profiles you share. You can remove access at any time. Please only invite people you trust.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
- KidneyPaw offers a free plan and optional Premium plans: monthly ($4.99), yearly ($34.99) and a one-time Lifetime purchase ($79.99). Prices are in USD, may vary by region and may change; any change will apply only from your next renewal, after notice.
- Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
- Free trials, where offered, convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled. We will remind you before a trial ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- If your subscription ends, your data is kept and you can still view and export it. Premium-only features become read-only or locked.
- “Lifetime” means for as long as we operate KidneyPaw and offer the Premium features to which it applies; it is tied to your account and is not transferable.
6. Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse KidneyPaw: no attempting to break or overload the service, reverse-engineer it, scrape the food database in bulk, access other people’s data, or upload anything unlawful. If you submit food data or other content to us, you confirm you have the right to share it and you allow us to use it to improve the database.
7. Food data
Food nutrition data comes from manufacturers, package labels and community submissions, each marked with a confidence level and the date it was last verified. Formulas change and errors happen. Always check the current label and talk to your vet before changing your cat’s diet. Rankings are never influenced by commissions; see our affiliate disclosure.
8. Our content
The KidneyPaw name, logo, app and website content are ours or our licensors’. You may print or share pages and printables for personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t republish our content or database without permission.
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep KidneyPaw running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. Reminders depend on your device’s notification settings and may not be delivered in every case, so please don’t rely on KidneyPaw as the only way to remember critical medication. We may update features and these terms; we’ll tell you in the app about material changes.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
KidneyPaw is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of information. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions made about your cat’s care, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you used only free features). Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Ending use
You can stop using KidneyPaw and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that seriously violate these terms, and we’ll tell you why where we can.
12. Governing law
[GOVERNING LAW — to be confirmed before launch.] Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the place where you live.
